Song: Angel in Disguise, Cinema Bizarre.

The reasoning behind choosing this song is fairly simple - I've generally always seen Sebastian as Ciel's 'saviour' (at least in his view). With his fate as a noble wildly thrown off the tracks by the fire, destruction and torture that plagued his past, Sebastian set Ciel back on the tracks to what he wanted. But despite being on this path, he still burns with anger and fury that he can't express himself and so vents through the demonic power at his butler's hand. Sebastian is his key to revenge. The demonic angel of death. So, in this picture, I portrayed Ciel the best I could as a child-demon hybrid, with skulls piled up beside him. 'Impish', as he was dubbed in the manga. The seal is in his hand to reflect Ciel's view that he is in control of the situation - but the collar has been ripped off the chain to reflect the reality of the situation. Ciel is not in control and ultimately, the power of this demon is entirely his own.

Edit: Well, I didn't place in the contest but I'm still incredibly proud of this picture because it's such a milestone for me. I've never spent this long on a picture and I really am happy with the results even though I'm not keen on what I did with the background anymore. This probably is the best piece of art that I've produced so far and I'm really glad to have proved to myself that I am capable of making the big leaps when I get my head down and work hard. It's so nice to be able to look back on this picture in the next morning and still feel happy, not the usual anger and disappointment in myself like I usually do. Still pleased and definitely won't let not placing kill my buzz, this picture means the world to me.
